Red Deer explosion sends one to hospital, damages six homes

One man is recovering from minor injuries, while six homes have been damaged following an explosion in Red Deer Sunday morning.

It appears a leaking propane tank was in a parked truck and when the back door opened, it created a spark, blowing up the truck in a residential area.

One man was sent to hospital with minor burns and six homes took some damage in the blast.

The Red Deer Advocate reports neighbours on both sides of the explosion had debris flying onto their property, pictures falling off walls and chandeliers crashing.
