Going Blue 4 U is back

A national campaign with the aim of raising awareness of depression, anxiety and mental illness is picking up steam.

Going Blue 4 U is in it’s second year with the goal of broadening the discussion.

Lee Horbachewski, also known as Simplee Serene, was blown away by the success of her first campaign last year to raise money to increase awareness about depression, anxiety and mental illness and support the Distress Centre here in Calgary.

So Horbachewski and some people close to her decided it was time to ramp it up and take it to the next level.

“This campaign will include a promotional video, a website that allows people to register and participate online as well as blue kits, which will consist of various promotional items to raise awareness about depression, anxiety and mental illness.”

Horbachewski says it is so important to reach out to people who suffer from this insidious disease that is experienced in all walks of life.

“It’s letting people that have a mental illness to know that they are not alone, that we are going blue for you,” said Horbachewski.
