Suncor reaching goals: 2012 report

Suncor energy gave an update on the progress of their environmental performance with their 2012 sustainability report.

One of those goals was to reduce fresh water consumption by 12% by 2015.

Vice President of Sustainable Development Gord Lambert tells 660News they are making good progress.

“Reduction in water use from the Athabasca Riverby 50 per cent since 2004 so in other words, we’ve cut our waters use in half and we’ve tripled production during the same time frame.” said Lambert.

Suncor also reports the company has reduced green house gas emissions intensity by 53%.
