Manitoba cat takes in pups as her own

Looks like dogs and cats can be friends after all.

A furry feline in a Manitoba animal shelter is now nursing three abandoned puppies along with her own kittens.

The Calgary Sun reports the Thompson Humane Society found four newborn puppies left in a box at a nearby gas station, and thought they’d try putting the pups in with a cat already nursing her four kittens.

Turns out they had the right idea.

The shelter says the mom cat grooms the pups like they were her own; the shelter hopes to adopt them out when they’re older.
