Olympic screen lights up Stephen Avenue

The Olympics might be happening across the globe, but the Olympic spirit is alive and well in Calgary.
For the first time ever, Downtown Calgary has set up a huge TV screen on Stephen Avenue to broadcast the Games.
Marketing and Communications Manager Caralyn Macdonald says it’s between 2nd and 3rd Streets in the southwest.
“What we have set up are high top tables that people that just kind of lean on, have their lunch, coffee, and chat. The screen is about nine feet by about 10 feet high and it’s a state of the art L.E.D. screen with great colour and sound,” she said.
In addition to ongoing coverage throughout the games, daily from 11:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. the Calgary International Pin Club will be at the Stephen Avenue celebration site to trade, buy and sell collectable pins.
