More evidence needed to catch Britannia tree choppers

Bylaw officials say they need more evidence before they can lay charges for whoever illegally chopped down a bunch of trees in the southwest.
The city vowed to track down the culprits three months ago, when someone noticed the trees had been cut down behind two homes in Britannia.
Bylaw boss Bill Bruce tells The Calgary Herald investigation files have been given to the Crown weeks ago, but the evidence is too circumstantial to go ahead with the prosecution.
He says officials need to talk to the people who ordered the work and not the actual labourers.
