A large thunderstorm Tuesday night sent Calgarians running for cover around the city and surrounding area.
There were reports of heavy wind, rain and hail in many parts of the city as the storm made its way from the southwest to the northeast.
This is nothing new for the city, as tornado warnings, and heavy precipitation has fallen in and around the city over the past week or so.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the City of Calgary but ended after a few hours, while a number of surrounding areas remained under thunderstorm warnings and watches late into the evening.
According to callers to our traffic centre, a number of roads were covered with water as storm drains plugged quickly and even the Empire Movie Theatre in Shawnessey has been closed due to flooding.
