Calgarians leaving town for long weekend

Roads will no doubt be packed with campers Friday afternoon but the airport is also a very busy place as we kick off the long weekend.
The lineups at the Calgary International Airport are moving quickly which is good news for the thousands of travellers looking to get out of town but airport volunteers say that could change at any moment.
Julie tells 660News she’s off to Winnipeg to visit friends.
“They’ve got a cottage on a lake which I’ve never been to so we’ll be there most of the time. I haven’t seen them for over a year,” she says.
Like most other vacationers we’re speaking with, Julie is looking for a little rest and relaxation this long weekend.
Others are leaving Calgary for more personal reasons including one man who’s headed to Nova Scotia for his own wedding.
Early this morning all departures leaving YYC were on schedule.
