Edmonton man killed in machete attack

A 22-year-old is dead and another is injured after a brawl involving a machete in Edmonton.
Witnesses say the attack occurred around 4:30 a.m. Monday at a townhouse complex during a party.
A brass-handled sabre was laying on the side of the road.
The deceased is being identified by a friend as Mike Motiuk.
The victim and his friend had been partying and drinking at the townhouse, where a group in their late teens and early 20s live.
The fight started when plans were made to go to a different party.
If it’s ruled a homicide, it would be the 17th homicide of 2012; there were 33 homicides at this time in Edmonton last year.
