Northwest standoff ends peacefully

A standoff in the northwest community of Rocky Ridge has ended peacefully Monday night.

Calgary Police surrounded a residence in the 200 block of Rocky Ridge Drive for several hours.

With the assistance of the police tactical unit and negotiators, the man was contacted, who later surrendered to police.

Duty Inspector Darren Leggatt tells 660News one woman suffered minor injuries.

Leggatt adds assault and weapons-related charges are pending.
