AHS launches campaign for volunteers

Albertans who want a louder voice when it comes to health in our province now have their chance.
Alberta Health Services has launched their recruitment campaign for volunteers to serve three-year terms on 12 health advisory councils.
Keith Donaghy with said the search is on for all the councils in Alberta.
“Most of them have vacancies at the moment, we anticipate that at the end of the year when many of our members terms that come up for renewal that some may not renew,” he said.
Responsibilities include corresponding between AHS and the public and providing feedback what is working well and suggesting areas of improvement.
The county with the most vacancies right now is the one out of Lethbridge.
There are 180 total council spots and there are currently 14 vacancies, but by the end of the year, AHS projects there will be around 25 to 30 open because expiring terms.
