Enbridge urged to suspend Northern Gateway Pipeline application

A well known political analyst thinks the time has arrived for Enbridge to ask for a time out in the debate over it’s controversial pipeline project from the oilsands to the west coast.
Rod Love, who was Ralph Klein’s right hand man when he was Calgary’s Mayor and Alberta’s Premier says, Enbridge needs to do something bold to stem the rising tide of opposition to the multi billion dollar project.
Love says time outs in the business world are nothing new, especially when a development or proposal needs to be flushed out in order to satisfy the various parties.
He says Enbridge could use the suspension in the application process to meet with it’s critics.
A recent poll by ThinkHQ found a majority of people in B.C. are against the pipeline project, but an even higher number of those opposed also admitted they didn’t know much about it.
Love fears without some time to clear the air, and with a provincial election in B.C. slated for next spring , the trajectory of the project is headed for an inglorious defeat.
