Controversial flag program abolished in Kelowna, B.C.

Community organizations in Kelowna, B.C., won’t be able to fly their flags in front of city hall in the future.
The flag-pole program was axed earlier this week when council faced a request from a local anti-abortion group “Right to Life Society” for their turn flying a flag.
Complaint letters piled up for council who decided unanimously to put an end to the controversy by cancelling the program altogether.
A council spokesperson tells The National Post, the whole exercise seems inappropriate for city hall as it should be a unifying place, not a place establishing camps on different political spectrums.
