Longtime Stampeder is honoured by Canada Post.

A long time Stampeder will soon be getting his own stamp.

Canada Post is commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Grey Cup.

The Stampeders’ version will feature Wayne Harris and in the background the team’s cup win over the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1948.

His son, Wayne Harris Jr. tells 660News the family recognizes the importance of his father being on the stamp.

“It’s just such a true honour for our family, we feel so blessed to be honoured in this way by both Canada Post and the Calgary Stampeders football club, to represent all the great players that have come through the organization and to be selected in this way is really a true honour.”

Harris,  nicknamed “Thumper”,  was a linebacker for the red and white, from 1961 through 1972.
