iPhone 5 expected to be unveiled next week

Apple is asking the media to attend a special event in San Francisco on Sept. 12, in what is speculated to be the official unveiling of the iPhone 5.

On the invitation is a shadowy number 5.

The new iPhone is expected to have a slightly larger screen, faster processing and technology which allows consumers to use their phone to make cash register payments.

At least one blog said pre-orders for the phone will begin immediately after the event, and it will officially go on sale on September 21.
