Three years to the day after the death of 38-year old Laura Furlan, charges are laid against a Calgary man.
The single mother of one’s body was found on September 7, 2009 in Fish Creek Park.
Police believe the death to be associated with the sex trade.
Friday, police released pictures of a truck they believe Furlan had been riding in, and asked the public to help find the driver. Just hours after the appeal, they arrested 38-year old Christopher Dunlop.
He faces charges of manslaughter and indignity to a body.
Staff Sgt. of the homicide unit Grant Miller says as the investigation continues the charges could be upgraded to first or second degree murder.
Dunlop’s first court appearance will be Monday.
