Police arrest Kristopher Cook

A man wanted in connection with a fraudulent fundraising scam has been arrested on the West Coast Tuesday.
Thanks to a public tip, the Calgary Police Service advised the Victoria Police Department that Kristopher Nicholas Cook was in their area.
The 28-year-old was arrested without incident in downtown Victoria around 4:30 p.m..
Police say he will be returned to Calgary in the coming days.
Last week, Calgary police issued a warrant for Cook who they say faked having cancer.
Cook was wanted on two counts of fraud over five thousand dollars after holding a fundraiser to allegedly raise money for his cancer treatment.
The venue was donated and the fundraiser took in about 75-hundred dollars in donations.
After the event, friends became skeptical of Cook and alerted police they felt they may have been defrauded.
