Airport express route causing concern

City council is questioning the cost of a new express bus route to the Calgary International Airport.

Calgary Transit told a council committee the new route has been doing well and ridership continues to go up, but aldermen are concerned the route isn’t making enough money to cover costs.

Alderman Gord Lowe says the majority of the passengers have monthly passes and do not pay the special $8 fee to go to the airport.

Lowe tells The Calgary Sun he wants a new update on the efficiency of the route next March.
