Crown wants jail for puppy killer

If the Crown gets its way, a Calgary man who killed his girlfriend’s puppy, for ‘soiling’ inside their home, will get jail time.

Crown Lawyer Gord Haight told court Friday, 33 year old Derick Colin Anderson should get time behind bars for throwing the tiny dog off a balcony and then kicking it to death.

The 11-month-old Pomeranian had been left in his care while his girlfriend was at work.

Anderson emailed her a picture of her puppy, dead in a recycling bin.

The judge in the case is expected to hand down a sentence November 29th.
