Mysterious liquid falls from Calgary Tower

Emergency crews closed down 9th Avenue near 2nd Street SW for a few hours Wednesday night as they investigated a mysterious brown liquid leaking from the Calgary Tower.
Duty Inspector Paul Stacey tells 660News around 10 p.m. police received a call that the substance was raining down onto vehicles and accumulating on the street below.
It’s believed the substance was significant enough that it fell across all the lanes on 9th Avenue.
Hazmat crews were called in and the area was reopened shortly after midnight.
The mystery substance turned out to be nothing more than water mixed with antifreeze from a broken boiler at the top of the tower.
