The number of E. coli illnesses in our province connected to a massive beef recall has grown by one.
Alberta Health Services is now investigating 10 cases province wide, half have been linked to the recall.
A person in northern Alberta became sick September 9th and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency says that individual ate steaks sold at an Edmonton Costco that has been linked to the four other confirmed cases.
The beef steaks came from the XL Foods processing plant in Brooks.
So far, only one E.coli case in Alberta originated from a different source. Officials do not know where the E.coli originated from in the remaining four illnesses, those cases are still under investigation.
