Small business confidence high

For the first since March, confidence among Canada’s small and medium-sized business owners rose.
The Canadian Federation of Independent Business reports its business barometer index increased by two points in September.
Business owners in Newfoundland and Labrador are now the most optimistic in the country, followed by Alberta and Saskatchewan.
The survey also reveals 18 per cent of business owners plan to hire full time staff over the next three to four months, compared to 12 per cent who plan to cut back.
