Man charged for smuggling firearms

An Alberta man has been fined for trying to smuggle a shotgun and enough parts to make three rifles from the U.S.
Canada Border Services Agency says Dean Barret Regehr pleaded guilty in Lethbridge Provincial Court to smuggling, undervaluation, and evading compliance with the customs act.
CBSA spokesperson Lisa White says Regehr declared only one shotgun when he crossed the border on September 4th.
“Our officers did a secondary examination and found that there were numerous firearm parts that when assembled made three firearms,” says White.
He was fined $9,000 and had to forfeit all weapons and gun parts — valued at $21,000.
