Things to do for your turkey weekend

It’s time to ditch the suit and the briefcase, the long weekend has arrived!
While many will close up shop for the holiday, the city will have plenty of things to do over the next three days.
Calgary Transit plans on operating a Sunday level of service for both Sunday and the holiday Monday.
If you need to travel through the core, the 7th Avenue corridor will be closed as crews continue tie-in work to the West LRT.
Shuttle services will be available.
For anyone who might have a little extra bit of clean-up to do before the in-laws arrive, garbage collection hasn’t been affected and landfills will be open.
Seven arenas will be offering free public skates and five Calgary pools will be offering free public swimming.
Nature lovers rejoice; there will be plenty of options for those hoping to enjoy the outdoors while in the city.
Bowness Park will open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., there’s also the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and the Devonian Gardens.
If you’re looking for a little more education and some excitement, try Fort Calgary, the Calgary Zoo or Telus Spark.
Heritage Park Historical Village will be offering free midway rides and flapjacks for its final weekend of 2012.
The food is part of a free pancake breakfast for the first 500 guests before 10:30 a.m.
The Wainwright Hotel Dining Room will also be offering a Thanksgiving meal as part of their menu.
ScreamFest has a new location this year at the Stampede Grandstand.
The Harvest Pumpkin Hunt kicks off Saturday at Butterfield Acres.
And if beer and sauerkraut is more your game, there will be plenty of Oktoberfest activities to take part in around the city.
German-themed events will be taking place at the Austrian Canadian Cultural Centre, Deerfoot Inn & Casino, Craft Beer Market, the Tudor Rose and the Red & White Club.
