Fire in New Brighton

Fire crews are investigating a house fire in the south east community of New Brighton after the blaze did significant damage to the roof and back of the house, forcing one person to flee their home.
Crews found flames shooting out of the home upon arrival, forcing fire crews to call a second alarm on Wednesday afternoon.
One woman in the home managed to get out safely and crews were able to save her two pets still trapped inside.
There is some heat damage done to neighbouring homes.
