GPS program to help abused women

A new GPS device is being tested in Red Deer to help women trying to escape abusive relationships.
Those deemed to be at high risk have a special SOS button they can push if something happens.
The head of that city’s emergency shelter tells the Calgary Sun, it gives 911 their exact location.
While it may not prevent an attack, he says, it’s another tool in the safety plan that can help police.
