Charges anticipated in fatal wreck

Police say charges will likely be laid in the crash that killed a Calgary teacher Tuesday.

On Tuesday morning, 56-year-old Meredith Schultz was heading eastbound on Highway 766 near Madden, when a welding truck hit her car and killed her.

Mounties believe the 33-year-old driver of the truck ran a stop sign.

Schultz was on her way to Heritage Christian Academy in northeast Calgary, where she’s worked with special needs students for 21 years.

The principal of Heritage Christian Academy Ryan Brennan tells The Calgary Sun it’s a tremendous loss, and that she was a valued employee, and a great friend.
