Poppy Fund at halfway mark

The Annual Poppy Fund drive is halfway toward its 2-million dollar goal.

The money raised is used to help local veterans with various day to day living issues.

So far, the number of donation box thefts this year is down compared to previous years.  Four have been stolen and police have arrested a couple culprits.

A spokesperson says fundraising and food collection efforts so far this year are in line with last year.

This Sunday is Remembrance Day and people are asked to put a few minutes aside to remember those who died in various armed conflicts around the world.
