Calgary Public School Board Trustees will vote Tuesday to have a third party review their wages and benefits.
A report recommends a consultant be hired to compare the board’s salaries to what other jurisdictions pay.
Trustees receive over $40-thousand a year, with extra compensation for the board’s chair and vice-chair.
Trustee George Lane tells The Calgary Herald there is a hodgepodge of compensation models throughout the province, and doing a proper comparison will require a lot of work.
The results of an independent review would be submitted to a committee who would make a recommendation next spring.
