ESSO gives millions for students

Tuesday morning Imperial Oil announced it will give $2.5 million to help fund STEM programs at the University of Calgary.
STEM is science, technology, engineering and math programming for students in Calgary grades K through 12.
The University of Calgary’s Dennis Sumara, dean of the Faculty of Education, says the money will help inspire young minds
“We’re starting with early years education, we’re making interventions into middle school and secondary school, we’re changing the curriculum of our teacher education program,” says Sumara.
The $2.5 million grant will last five years, after which the U of C will have the option to reapply.
