Calgarians take holiday for Remembrance Day

It’s an odd Monday, with many taking the day off due to Remembrance Day Sunday.

But for others, it’s a regular day.

All provincial and federal government offices are closed, but it’s business as usual for the city of Calgary.

The kids in both the public and catholic school systems are also in class today.

Despite what some may think, Canada does not have a national holiday for Remembrance Day.

A couple callers to 660News believe it should be a national holiday.

Most provinces, including Alberta, have a stat holiday for the day.
