Cyberbullying prevention

Parents and kids are being encouraged to log on and learn about cyberbullying prevention.
The Government of Alberta is putting on the webcast Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. as part of National Bullying Awareness Week.
“No one should ever have to face a hurtful or threatening message when they turn on their phone or computer” said Dave Hancock, Minister of Human Services. “Whether you or someone close to you has been bullied online, I encourage you to join this important discussion about how we can stop bullying and promote healthy relationships.”
Participants can submit questions for panelists Matthew Johnson, Director of Education, Media Smarts, Katie Kitschke, Public Education Director, SAFFRON Centre, Jim Johannsson, Director, Community Consultation, TELUS; and Steven Bizuns, Prevention of Bullying Youth Committee member.
“This webcast is a great opportunity for people to lend their voices to solutions around the prevention of cyberbullying,” said Jeff Johnson, Minister of Education. “We need to hear from Albertans, and the world, about how we can eliminate this troubling form of abuse and ensure our kids are safe and respected in schools and the community.”
