Year-round farmers market

We don’t see many pop-up farmers markets this time of year.

However, there’s one in the northwest that happens every Wednesday regardless of the weather.

The Parkdale Community Farmers Market just celebrated its first anniversary.

The Market’s Danette Oien tells 660News it has grown from a handful of vendors to more than two dozen.

“Every week we have a really good supply of fresh fruits and vegetables.  We have vendors who sell organic meat products, beef, lamb, bison.   We have a couple of bakeries here every week,” says Oien.

There’s also Mexican, Indian and South American cuisine.

The fresh fruits and veggies are brought in from BC in the winter.

The market runs at the Parkdale Community Association on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
