The Tories have yet to apologize or explain Premier Alison Redford’s sister’s alleged illegal expenses and the Canadian Taxpayers Federation says that’s not right.
And the CTF even as far to says there should be legal action.
Alberta Director Derek Fildebrandt says anyway you look at it, it was illegal for Lynn Redford to spend taxpayers dollars on PC events and fundraisers.
“If it’s illegal then absolutely Elections Alberta or even the police should be able to get involved here, people need to held accountable. People have broken the law which they very clearly have here, they need to be prosecuted under the law and they should not be protected because of family connections,” said Fildebrandt.
He adds, Redford’s boss at the time who approved those expenses, which he believes was the now CEO of Alberta Health Services, should be held responsible as well.
