Grey Cup a touchdown for biz in Cowtown

The Grey Cup may have been a loss for the Stamps, but for Calgary businesses it was a big win.

Nicky Arsenault, supervisor of the Shark Club sports bar says they had people lining up out the door at 11a.m. to watch the game, and they were forced to make extra space.

And it’s been like that all over town.

Co-owner of Schanks, Sam Jablonka tells The Calgary Sun, football has been filling the void left by the NHL lockout and bringing them a full house.

Stamps merchandise was also flying off the shelves, with many retailers having to put in rush orders to make sure they weren’t sold out before the game.
