Golf courses get help from city

Calgarians may not be getting a tax break, but city golf courses will be getting some financial help next year.
Council voted to scrap the mandate requiring city-run courses to turn a profit Wednesday.
Aldermen also agreed to help out to the tune of $200 thousand next year and $400 thousand in 2014.
Alderman Gord Lowe tells The Calgary Sun, it’s a temporary move and council will be looking to see how to make the golf courses profitable again.
Lowe says the cash will help them pay for corporate costs and upkeep.
