Calgary heritage home sells for $1.5 million

A heritage landmark in the Calgary has sold for $1.5 million.
According to the Calgary Herald, a home that suffragette Nellie McClung lived in at 8th Street and 15th Avenue Southwest sold Friday after being on the market for three months at a listed price of $2.39 million.
Real estate agent Chris Zaharko says the property sold for much less because not a lot of heritage homes in the city are changing hands. He adds if it were a case the home could be torn down and the site developed, the property could have sold for as much as $5 million.
McClung, a pioneer on the issue of women’s rights, lived in the Beltline home for nearly 10 years.
