Man sentenced for child porn

A Calgary man is headed to jail after police discovered child pornography on his computer.

The Calgary Sun reports, Daniel Lanctot, originally from Quebec, has been handed a one-year prison term and ordered to serve two years probation.

A forensic audit done on Lanctot’s computer found about two thousand images and videos of nude children.

The 38 year old must undergo any assessment and counselling suggested by his supervisor and stay away from playgrounds or other areas where there are children for the next ten years.

He is also not permitted to have any contact with a minor under the age of 16 during that time period.
