Male panda actually a girl

Call it a case of mistaken identity; turns out a giant panda who was to be part of a 10-year Canadian exhibit at the Toronto and Calgary zoos is actually female, not male as originally thought, after zoo officials took blood samples.

The Chinese government quickly scrambled to find a male panda to accompany five-year-old ‘Er Shun.’

The Calgary Sun reports Canada is paying $1-million for the pandas to stay in the country.

This is the third time giant pandas have been guests in the country; the first time was in 1985, when a pair spent the summer at the Toronto Zoo.
