Senior won’t be forced back east

Alberta Health Services says a senior from New Brunswick, who suffered a stroke shortly after moving to Calgary, is not being sent back east.
Inez Allen had moved here to be close to family and has no one back in New Brunswick.
Don Stewart with AHS says he’s been told they’re working with Allen’s family to ensure the 81 year old grandmother is getting the care she needs here.
Her grandson, Tim French, tells the Calgary Sun she’d been given two weeks to get on a plane or pay up to $2-thousand a week for private care. He says they still haven’t officially been told anything different.
Stewart says he’s not sure where the confusion is coming from but is making assurances the senior will not be forced to leave.
