Gold rush fever coming to Alberta

The producers of the AMC show Hell on Wheels have teamed up with British director Ridley Scott to bring a mini-series about gold-rush fever in the 1890’s to Alberta.

Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev will be co-producers for “Klondike,” the first scripted project for the discovery channel.

Shooting will start in March and run through to June.

Oakes tells The Calgary Herald the cast and director have yet to be confirmed along with specific locations for filming.
