The Mayans are making money for local shops

Calgarians are stocking up at a couple of local army and supply stores, just in case the world does end on December 21, 2012 as the Mayan calendar predicts.
Customers stocking up on gear at Crown Surplus on 11th Street S.E. want to survive the end of world and have been preparing for months.
According to The Calgary Sun, business is booming for owner Joaquin Diaz and while he doesn’t believe the world will end next Friday, he’s more than happy to accommodate others.
J.R. Cox, owner of The Shooting Edge, is also seeing an increase in sales of lanterns, first aid kits and blankets.
He says people are thinking about how they’d survive the apocalypse or even just an emergency situation.
