Flu spiking in Calgary

Health officials say a rise in influenza cases in the city are the result of an early start to the season.
Dr. Francois Belanger at Alberta Health Services says the Children’s Hospital has seen a 20 per cent increase in flu cases this year.
Belanger says it’s typically a busy time of year, but they are seeing this increase across the board.
He advises parents to take their child to the hospital if they believe they are really sick.
The Calgary Sun reports the flu shot is also still available for those looking to prevent illness.
