An off-duty police officer and a sharp eyed resident are being credited with taking down a thief in the southwest community of Lincoln Park this week.
On Tuesday, the witness spotted a man peering into homes, and then saw him walking down the street with a laptop under his arm.
He approached the suspect, along with the off-duty member and after a short chase, police took him into custody.
The neighbourhood has had eight home break-ins since early November and the 22-year-old suspect has been charged with three of them.
