Carbon Monoxide scare evacuates duplex in southeast

Several people were forced out into the cold this morning, after a carbon monoxide scare at a duplex in the 2800 block of 12th Avenue S.E.

EMS and fire were responding to a medical assist, when it was determined the CO levels were 500 parts per million, which is significantly higher then normal.

EMS tells 660News 11 people had to be taken to hospital for treatment, and are all in stable or non-life threatening condition.

Seven of the 11 were kids between the ages of three and 15, while four were adults.

Fire Batallion Chief Al Magwood says there were no carbon monoxide detectors in the duplex.

He strongly recommends everyone to get one for their homes.
