What’s open and closed for Christmas

If you’ve got a mountain of wrapping paper and recycling, all collection at community recycling depots is not affected during the holidays.
City land fills including Spyhill East Calgary & Shepard are all closed for Christmas Day, but are open 7:30 to 5 on Boxing Day.
A holiday skate isn’t possible today, but some arenas are opening Boxing day from 1-2:30 p.m., with free skates offered at a number of rinks around the city, including Frank McCool, Murray Copot, Optimist/George Blundun, Rose Kohn/Jimmie Condon, Shouldice, Stew Hendry/Henry Viney, and Stu Peppard.
All fitness and aquatic centres, the Wildflower Arts Centre, and the North Mount Pleasant Arts Centre are closed until January 2nd.
The Inglewood bird sanctuary is open sunrise to sunset during the Holidays.
The Devonian Gardens and the Calgary Zoo are closed Christmas Day but open a 9 a.m. Boxing Day.
Fort Calgary and the Calgary Zoo are closed both Tuesday and Boxing Day.
All city offices will be closed Tuesday, Wednesday and New Years’ Day.
Calgary Transit is still operating limited routes. Passengers can ride free all day Tuesday.
Regular Tuesday garbage collection will resume January 8th.
