Money for driving the speed limit?

It’s one of the worst feelings a driver can have, getting a dreaded photo-radar ticket in the mail.

Councillors in Canmore are looking to change that.

Now, if you’re caught on camera not speeding, you can be entered to win $250 in gift certificates for local businesses.

Councillor Sean Krausert came up with idea after seeing it used in Europe.

He tells The Calgary Herald he wouldn’t be surprised if Canmore is the only municipality in North America running the program.

Four drivers a month will win the award, with the program being funding by speeders caught by photo-radar cameras.
