If you’re looking to get in some last minute fun before the holiday season is really over, this weekend is jam packed with events in Calgary.
Mike from Mike’s Bloggity Blog tells 660News tons of rinks and sledding hills maintained by the city are open for business.
“One I find that’s really great is down at Prince Island Park. It’s a beautiful rink and it plays music, and its so great because the city skyline’s in the background.”
If you’re looking to broaden your horizons, the High Performance Rodeo runs until February 3rd.
As part of the art festival, a one time only performance with musical composer David Rhymer takes place at the Epcor Centre Saturday.
Mike tells 660News its pay what you can.
“Who isn’t a little sore after looking at their Visa bill, so, you know usually 10 or 15 dollars is pretty appropriate for something pay what you can downtown.”
If you’re in a movie mood, check out Oscar hopefuls The Sessions and Argo playing at the Plaza, and avoid the big theatre crowds.
If you want to see some Calgary landmarks on the big screen, check out locally-shot movie Eli Regrets, also playing at the Plaza Theatre Saturday.
The film tells the story of a teen who’s world turns on his head, after he falls for the new girl.
Or, if you’re a fan of classic video games, go to Wine-ohs on Saturday and see a live performance of classic theme music from Super Mario, Zelda, and more.
