Idle No More marches through Calgary

A march in support of the Idle No More Movement is making its way through the city.
A parade of supporters is snaking their way along 14th Street from 64th Avenue northwest on route to the Shaw Millennium Park for a planned rally.
Duty Inspector Patty McCallum tells 660News police are on hand to keep the peace.
“We are certainly present with them so as they progress down 14th Street we will have a car in front and behind and we’ll make sure they get to their destination so they can have a peaceful protest,” explains McCallum.
Changes to the Indian Act due to the Harper government’s omnibus budget bill have many natives up in arms.
The group fears their way of life is in jeopardy due to the Tories’ massive Bill C-45.
