Thankfully no one was hurt when a fire broke out at a northwest home around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The blaze happened a few blocks south of the North Hill Centre, in the 1900 block of 8th Avenue N.W.
Fire crews arrived to find black smoke inside the single story residence, and quickly extinguished the flames they found in a bedroom on the main floor.
Two people in a suite in the basement managed to escape the flames.
The cause remains under investigation.
